The CMMC Model

What is a CMMC?

CMMC 2.0 is the latest and most current version of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification. CMMC will have an impact on virtually every company in the DIB. CMMC consist of three levels. Level 1 is the Foundational level and applies to DIB companies that process, transmit or store Federal Contract Information (FCI). Level 2 is considered Advanced and applies to companies that process, transmit or store Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). Level 3 is considered Expert level and will apply to companies that handle the most sensitive CUI (expected to be 2% or less of DIB organizations).

While the impact on contractors and subcontractors that make up the DOD Supply chain will be significant, we believe the long-term impact with respect to safety and security of our most sensitive data will be positive.

Companies that understand and embrace the requirements and structure of the CMMC framework will be well positioned to plan, implement and build a security infrastructure that will meet the CMMC 2.0 requirements and provide a foundation for ongoing compliance.

Level 1

We can provide the guidance you need to prepare for your CMMC Level 1 Self-Assessment. Our experts can guide your team or take a more active role in managing the implementation. We can even work with your MSP or CSP to ensure readiness and understanding.

Level 2

Level 2 requirements are exponentially higher than the requirements for Level 1 (110 vs 17). If you don’t have a large IT or Security staff, or if they have little or no understanding of the CMMC requirements, we can support your efforts to attain level 2 certification. From developing SSP’s, to performing gap analysis, and planning an implementation strategy, our consultants will provide the expertise needed to prepare you for certification.
